Welcome to Mar Dulce
Travel Agency

Travel Agency TOURISM MAR DULCE provides ticketing services to all tourist destinations in Argentina .

History of the name of the travel agency " Mar Dulce" When you start the process in Ministry of Tourism in 2000 , now Ministry for the opening of the Travel Agency thought it had to have a name with history and could match any fact relevant to identify in our city .

This is why we think first in our country, its name , this word ' Argentina ' It comes from the Latin argentum ( silver). Right from the times of Pedro de Mendoza to refer to the region of the Rio de la Plata.
The Portuguese called it Rio da Prata because of rumors that postulated the existence of precious metals and eventually won
like Rio de la Plata.
The Latinization of ARGENTINA name appeared in 1602 , when Martín del Barco Centenera , the title poem La Argentina .
Why we turn out like this important identification Rio received as the first name " Mar Dulce" by his greatness and taste of the water . ]
The first part of this story begins in February 1516, when Juan Diaz de Solis , thought he had found the narrow searched and discovered the river also Dulcellamado Mar and Santa María Solís river , but what he found was the Riode Plate.

We found a beautiful name as the name of the travel agency would carry a name with history .

May 1 - Labour Day in Argentina

The International Workers' Day or May Day, is the feast par excellence of the world labor movement. It is a journey that has been commonly used for different social and labor claims.

Since its establishment in most countries (although the may day was in many late cases ) by agreement of the Socialist Workers' Congress of the Second International , held in Paris in 1889 , is a day of struggle and a tribute to the Martyrs Chicago . These anarchist unionists were executed in the United States for his participation in the days of struggle for the achievement of the workday of eight hours, which originated in the strike began on May 1, 1886 and its peak three days later , May 4 , in the Haymarket Riot . Today is a protest party rights of workers in general, and is celebrated in many countries.

Interestingly , in the U.S. and Canada this celebration is not celebrated . Instead, the Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday in September in a parade held in New York organized by the Noble Order of the Knights of Labor ( Knights of Labor , in English ) . President Grover Cleveland, hosted the celebration in September for fear that the May date would strengthen the socialist movement in the United States since 1882. Commemorate Canada joined the first Monday in September instead of May from 1894 .

The facts giving rise to this conclusion are contextualized in the dawn of the industrial revolution in the United States. In the late nineteenth century, Chicago was the second city in population U.S. West and Southeast rail arriving every year thousands of unemployed farmers, creating the first humble villas which would house hundreds of thousands of workers. In addition, these urban centers welcomed immigrants come from all over the world throughout the nineteenth century.

The claim of the working day of 8 hours

One of the basic demands of the workers was the 8-hour day . Enforcing high "eight hours for work , eight hours for sleep and eight hours to the house." In this context there were several movements, in 1829 a movement was formed to petition the Legislature of New York 's eight-hour day . Previously there was a law forbidding work more than 18 hours, " except in cases of necessity." If there was such a need, any officer of a railroad company that had forced a driver or fireman working days of 18 hours a day had to pay a fine of $ 25.

Most of the workers were members of the Noble Order of the Knights of Labor , but had more preponderance the American Federation of Labor ( American Federation of Labor ), initially socialist ( some sources indicate the anarchist origin). In its fourth congress , held on October 17, 1884 , it was resolved that from 1 May 1886 the legal length of the working day should be eight hours , going on strike if this claim was not obtained and recommending all trade unions that discussed making laws to that effect in their jurisdictions. This resolution was of interest to organizations , who saw the possibility of getting more jobs in the eight hours, reducing unemployment.

The June 25, 1868 , President Andrew Johnson issued a call Ingersoll 1 Act establishing the eight-hour day . Soon, nineteen states passed laws with maximum work eight to ten hours ( albeit with clauses that allowed enlarge to between 14 and 18 hours). However, due to lack of compliance with the Act Ingersoll , labor unions and U.S. mobilized . The press termed the move as " indignant and disrespectful ," " Rave unpatriotic lunatics " and said it was " the same as asking to be paid a salary without meeting any time to work"

At present , many countries on May recall as the origin of modern Labor Movement . There are some that do not, in general British colonial countries like the United States and Canada, celebrating Labor Day ( Labor Day) the first Monday in September; New Zealand , the fourth Monday in October. In Australia , each federal state decides the date of event: the first Monday of October in the Australian Capital Territory , New South Wales and South Australia ; the second Monday in March in Victoria and Tasmania ; the first Monday in March, in Western Australia ; and the first of May in Queensland and the Northern Territory .

In 1954 , Pope Pius XII declared May 1 feast of St. Joseph the Worker. Lately comes calling this day as International Labor Day.

In Portugal , the International Workers' Day was celebrated on freely after the victory of the Carnation Revolution on 25 April 1974. Whereas in big cities demonstrations promoted by unions as the Inter - CGT ( Confederation are made General of Portuguese Workers - Inter) or the Confederation of UGT ( General Workers Union) as elsewhere in the Algarve is customary to make picnics.
