In the span of time between 1599, the arrival of the Order to Cordoba, and 1767, when its expulsion by King Carlos III of Spain, the Jesuits established a socio-cultural, religious, economic and territorial only in Spanish America that marked the cultural, economic and territorial cohesion of the province.
The system, centered in the city of Cordoba, was organized around educational and spiritual business of the Company, giving rise to the Colegio Maximo in 1610, the University in 1622, the College Convictorio of Our Lady of Montserrat in 1687 and the Novitiate .
In 1599 the Jesuits settled in Córdoba on lots donated by the city council.
Since 1608, work began on building that would shape the current Jesuit Block.
